How to write critical articles
Imagine that in front of you a picture, and you have to say something about. Of course, you can hide in the bushes and humbly say: “I am not a professional, then it is necessary to know a lot, to have art history education, etc.” However, all this pretense. Pictures speak to each person, and each person, if bother, can understand what they are saying.
Modern art has long overstepped the line separating the spiritual from the physical world, the world of sense. In many ways it was the supersensible. This is not the old realism dear to our hearts, where it was seen at once – and birch, and pine, and the hut – and did not have to wrestle and guess what is shown and what the artist wanted to say. Art has become much more diverse and more complex, it puts forward new requirements to our modern perception. A perception lags behind the art! And you have to develop it. From time to time you have to arrange yourself this exercise: stop in front of the picture and think: What can I write about it?
At first it seems that nothing. And it is normal. Only one person becomes a critic, which passed through this little pleasant sensation, when he can not squeeze on the pictures even two words. And what do you do in that case?
First, you need to mentally describe what we see. You just have to find in the picture that woman, and a large red ripe pear, and two obscure formation of plant-animal origin between the face of a woman and a pear, and a black background, and the colors and shapes of all these objects. It must be impartial, as an investigator, to ascertain all the details: the strange and her nose, and crinkles on the face, and the shape of the chin, and blackening in the place of bite pears, etc. It is necessary for some time to hold their attention on examining the picture, otherwise it is impossible to perform subsequent steps.
Now we begin to list all the thoughts that come to mind about the picture and associated with what we saw. For example, a woman wants a pear to eat, two obscure education is a peel of a pear or crushed inside of a pear that the painting deliberately distorted colors, so that it becomes unrecognizable, that the artist simply poured paint on a canvas and create it bizarre divorce and then I gave some objects familiar shape. Note also that the objects beyond the canvas and it looks like it all, as a fragment. And so on in the same spirit. Sami these thoughts have no value, and should not be carried in an article. However, it is necessary to consider all coming up with the idea to then get rid of them and otstranitproch as having no bearing on the case. And then go to the third stage.
Then, when we emptied your mind of all associative thoughts begin to collect all the feelings associated with the picture. We like it or not? Does it have the right to exist in our perception? Can we live with this combination of shapes and colors, or feel aversion to him? Yes, we can certainly feel and color harmony, warmth and even heat emanating from the picture. It is this background, it is this kind of education here and need! Without them – if only to portray a woman and pear – it would be empty and uninteresting. We also ask ourselves: Can we hang this picture at home? Are we going to endlessly enjoy it, or she, we quickly get bored? Appetizing or not? Can we fall in love with this attitude?
After we asked ourselves all these questions and received answers, begins the most important thing. Now we have to sit down and write something of their own, that is what you want to say for yourself, your own ideas that you want to bring into the world. If you write just what have learned from the pictures on the first, second and third stages, the article will tedious and uninteresting. Any critic will tell you that this is garbage, subjective babble uneducated layman in painting. Therefore it is necessary to write his own – as you well know and is responsible for what.
– But – you ask – how does this relate to “own”? As my own independent ideas may be associated with the picture?
It turns out they can. Actually, the picture and expect from you that you look at it and say something different. However, this is “his” is actually what you want to tell a picture. The secret lies in the fact that the ideological content, inherent in the picture comes from within, through your own thoughts and not through the eyes. Until you become stronger, as a critic, you still do not believe in the objectivity of his thinking, and can sometimes reject the idea of ??asking the soul as irrelevant. You just need a good night’s sleep with a clear head and go back to the picture. Then you will feel that your idea is coming from it. It actually is the spiritual vision.
And what in this case tells us a picture?
Pear at the bottom of the picture – this is the first stage of perception, when you’re just looking at the subject.
Dark formation of plant origin, which is like a pear peel peels – is the second stage, when you peel off from the subject all its associated thoughts.
Other education opposite the woman’s face – this is the third stage of perception, your feelings about the subject.
And the woman on top – it is you do with your idea, and you will make in the article.
Consequently, the artist depicted in this postmodern work of the process of spiritual perception of the subject (pear), passing through four successive stages.
Indeed so – a woman wants to eat a pear! But turning the head away from the pear says that there is nothing that she eats a pear is not direct, but in the spiritual sense.
