Find the incentive to better study in school

Admission to the college and the labor market are getting tougher. And although the old saying “Bad learner also gets a diploma” is true, estimates will not harm your chances to enter a higher educational institution or get a job. Remember that good grades are more the result of hard work, not intelligence, so finding an incentive is the first (and most important) step to academic success!

Do your work

If you are a student, then your job is to be a student. In general, students who achieve success most often are those who take the difficult aspects of this fact on the positive side.

Correctly allocate time

If studying is your job, then your work may not have the right time, especially if you are in college. Distribute all the projects that you have, and set the deadlines for a certain segment of each project. Also, take yourself enough time to view your graduation project. When planning, honestly distribute the time that each separate course requires.

Find out how to get what you want

You study at school or already at the university, when you grow up, figure out how to achieve what you want. But do not stop there. Find someone who has already achieved success, about which you only dream (even if it will be the executive director), and discuss fifteen minutes with him to find out – how this man could achieve this. Prepare the questions that you ask, write down what he did and how he succeeded. Then send a note of gratitude to this person. Such a technique will be more productive than if you try to achieve good grades only because it is so necessary. Having talked with a person who has reached your goals, will help you see – what you need to get what you want.

Keep track of your marks

If you are in high school, ask your teacher about your grades after the lesson or after all classes. If you are studying at a university, look at your program and find out what grades you will need for good results, that is, find out how much each test affects your final mark. If your assessment includes class attendance, check with your teacher or his assistant for basic requirements and do even more. If you have any questions after reading the program, write to your teacher by e-mail.

Find out who makes the grades

At school it’s easier with this. In college, one course can be taught by one professor and several assistants. The professor gives lectures, and the assistants conduct seminars and evaluate some independent works and tests. Professors sometimes do not communicate closely with the assistants and give them the opportunity to determine how to present the grades. Make sure you understand all the points and complete all tasks.

Appear in class

Sometimes schools interested school kids who are often absent from classes. In the university nobody is up to this business. Most students get bad grades because they are not always attending classes. Remember, this is your work. Just don’t take the habit of counting on a friend who will tell you what you missed. Someday you will go to classes where you will not know anybody and you will finish the school without getting proper knowledge of the discipline.

Meet the teacher

If you are in college or at a college seminar with dozens of other students, then be correct and polite. If you are in a lecture hall with more than a hundred students, act as if you came to the show. Go to the professor in the office, when he has a consultation, and talk about the theses of the lecture, which you are interested in, even if these theses interest you very little. The same goes for the classes taught by the teacher’s assistants, which usually are few. Communication with teachers is a form of cooperation.

Respect the place where you are

Go to class, like it’s your job. Don’t look at social networks, don’t talk and don’t chat. In the school, teachers are likely to make a reprimand or punish you. At the university you may be asked to leave the classroom or to drop out of classes. You will receive the level of respect that you give.

Take part in the lesson

Again, it all depends on the size of your class. On large lectures, questions are not encouraged, they remain assistants in the discussion sessions. If your lesson is a seminar with a couple of dozen students, then your participation is necessary. If you do not remain silent in class, then your professor or assistant teacher will remember you and, even if you ask a question that seems “stupid”, it will show that you are genuinely interested in the material.

Be honest

Teachers already listened to every excuse, why the task was delayed, why the student was late or why some other disaster prevented your answer. If you missed your deadline for the assignment, gather and acknowledge the error, ask how you can fix it.

Ask for help

Part of your work as a student is to learn. Most of the learning process includes directions from people who know more about you in this matter. When you ask for help, you ask a person who has devoted his life to studying this problem.

Do not beg

Ask for assessments in a fairly professional manner. If you are not satisfied with your grade, ask for it privately at a meeting that will be held in advance. Ask what you can do to avoid such a mistake next time or ask if you can remake the task. Many professors give the opportunity to take an additional task if the student modestly asks for it (and not on the last day).

Force yourself to be accountable

Join a group or a club that requires a certain GPA. Sports often have minimum GPAs, as do fraternities, sororities, and many internships.Set yourself to be more responsible. Join a club or join a group where you need a certain average ball. For sports, you always require a sufficient average ball, as in brotherhood, sisterhood, as in many institutions for postgraduate practice.

Advices

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. This is not a manifestation of your weakness. Asking for help, you thereby show that you want to self-development.

If you work while you are studying, then you should pay more attention to these points, because you have two jobs. Don’t forget about this fact.

Focus on wellness. Make sure you eat healthy food and sleep enough. It will not always be easy in a higher educational institution. It will be easier if you take proper care of your health. The head will work better if you get enough nutrients and sleep.

Don’t forget about the fun. Studies show that the brain works best if you do not overload it. Even if you watch a short video for thirty seconds on the Internet, do not forget to do it. Just don’t spend a whole day on this.

Learn in the group. The best way to learn something is to try and teach it to someone else. Group classes also allow students to support each other in stressful moments.
